Alberta Health Care
An Alberta Health Care Card can be obtained from any Registry. No appointment is required and there is no cost to you. An Alberta Health Care Card will entitle you to many basic medical services but does not cover your medical exam required by Immigration Canada (within 90 days of arrival).
Documents you Need to Apply
Application form (you can download and fill out at home to save time at the Registry)
Proof of Residency in Alberta (your host may need to provide a letter as landlord)
Document Proving Legal Entitlement to be in Canada
*children are included on mothers form
NOTE: If you require care before receiving your card in the mail, there is a billing procedure for physicians serving displaced Ukrainians, under the "Ukrainian Evacuee Temporary Health Benefits Program"
Once you have received your AHS card, it's time to seek a family doctor in your area
